Peak Organic Brewing Company

How fitting that the first official post on Just Juice concerns Beer!!!

On a random whim-purchase from the local corner shop, I tried a surprising IPA from Portland, Maine, made by Peak Organic Brewing Company (recipe inspired by Tim,homebrewer from the North Shore Homebrewers Club).

Peak Organic President and CEO, Jon Cadoux, describes the beer-making approach as "made without toxic and persistent pesticides and chemical fertilizers. These substances can cause soil degradation and chemical runoff that contaminate water sources and ecosystems they support."

Peak Organic brought a whopping 7.1% Alc/bv, deliciously "hopped-like crizzie" beer to the table. The Microsoft Word label notwithstanding, this ale was delightfully crisp on the palate, with definite citrus-driven tropical fruit flavors; not for the faint of heart, but still aggressive enough to keep you interested past the first couple of tastes (but maybe that has more to do with my recent obsession with IPAs)...get ready to invest an evening in this 6-pack, curl up with an annoying movie; and enjoy ad nauseum, in the truest sense.
